70 food kits! That is what Hardt of Christmas delivered to families in need this holiday season. We set out to collect food to fill 50 reusable shopping bags but thanks to the generous donations of friends, family and community members we collected enough to provide seventy families with food kits including various cooking and holiday items.
We were so fortunate to partner again with Arlington Food Assistance Center (AFAC). But given the increased need for food assistance this year, instead of raising donations for trees and ornaments, we agreed that providing families with rarely donated food items and ingredients (coffee grounds, flour, sugar, cooking oil, etc.) along with a holiday treat was much more appropriate.
Thank you to all our supporters, families at Taylor Elementary School in Arlington and to the Arlington Food Assistance Center. You all played a significant role in making several families very happy during the 2020 holiday season, especially after such a tough year. Hoping to get back to delivering trees, ornaments and even more food during the next holiday season.
Wishing everyone a safe and happy 2021!
